Social Media Director

  • Jacksonville, FL, USA
  • Full-Time
  • On-Site
  • 50,000-65,000 USD / Month

Job Description:

About the Role

Our client operates a group of growing businesses spanning roofing, dock construction, and commercial real estate brokerage, and is looking for a Social Media Director to own the social presence across all of them.

This is a hands-on, in-the-field role. You won't be sitting behind a desk scheduling stock-photo posts — you'll be on job sites filming roof installs, at the waterfront capturing dock builds, and out at properties shooting walkthroughs and listing content. You'll work directly with the employees and leadership of each business to capture authentic footage, then turn it into content that builds each brand and drives real business results.

What You'll Do

  • Own and manage social media accounts across multiple businesses and platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn)
  • Plan and maintain content calendars for each brand with a consistent posting cadence
  • Shoot video and photography on location — job sites, properties, projects in progress, team features
  • Edit short-form and long-form video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube)
  • Create graphics and visual assets for posts, stories, and campaigns
  • Coordinate directly with employees, crews, and leadership at each business to schedule shoots and gather footage
  • Write captions and copy in each brand's voice
  • Track performance, report on growth and engagement, and adjust strategy based on what's working
  • Stay on top of platform trends and translate them into content that fits these industries

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience managing social media accounts and growing audiences (portfolio or account examples required)
  • Strong videography and photography skills — comfortable shooting on-site in real-world conditions
  • Familiarity with video editing (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar) — you don't need to be an expert editor, just comfortable turning raw footage into solid social content
  • Graphic design ability (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar)
  • Self-directed and organized — you'll be juggling multiple brands and shoot schedules
  • Comfortable working with people who aren't "media people" — crews, contractors, brokers — and making them look great on camera
  • A reliable vehicle and willingness to travel to job sites and properties around the Jacksonville area

Location

The client's office and the majority of projects are in Jacksonville, FL, and this role requires regular on-site filming — so long-term, you need to be based in or near Jacksonville.

That said:

  • Already in Jacksonville or nearby? Great — you're ready to go.
  • Willing to relocate? Strong candidates who are ready to move to the Jacksonville area will be considered.
  • In South Florida? Candidates within driving distance (especially South Florida) may be considered to start, with the understanding that relocation to Jacksonville is expected over time.

Compensation

$50,000–$65,000 per year starting, depending on experience. Compensation will be reviewed as the role and content operation grow across the businesses.

Why This Role

You'll have real creative ownership across multiple brands in industries where great content stands out — because almost nobody in roofing, marine construction, or commercial real estate is doing social media well. You'll build portfolios' worth of work, see the direct business impact of your content, and grow with businesses that are investing in doing this right.

How to Apply

Submit:

  1. Your resume
  2. Links to social media accounts you've managed
  3. Examples of video content you've shot and edited (this matters most)
